This is day five of my look at the twenty three executive orders enacted by the president.

5. Propose rulemaking to give law enforcement the ability to run a full background check on an individual before returning a seized gun.

This one is a little tricky. From this synopsis I gather that the government doesn’t run a check before they return a seized gun.  That sounds fishy to me. One would think that law enforcement would already have that ability. Then the question of why the weapon was seized in the first place would come into play.

I can see running a background check, but law enforcement already can do that. This order seems to be a bit redundant. Maybe with some clarification.

These synopsis results are from original posts of the orders signed. I will look into finding more thorough information.
