This is day seventeen of my look at the twenty three executive orders on gun control enacted by the President.
Release a letter to health care providers clarifying that no federal law prohibits them from reporting threats of violence to law enforcement authorities.
Wait? Didn’t I see this yesterday? Oh that was that obamacare doesn’t keep doctors from asking about guns in the home.
Ok, so this one says that there is no law preventing healthcare providers from reporting threats of violence. Well that’s very nice of Obama to take the time to make an executive order letting healthcare professionals know this. Does this mean that there are going to be more job openings in healthcare? I should think that to provide a threat assessment laison to every hospital or clinic or Doctor’s office, would require a multitude of positions in order to be effective. Otherwise the backup of threats reported would become a logistical nightmare to investigate causing such a delay as to become disruptive to treatment and ineffective in enforcement.
But that’s right. The Obama administration had to rush these orders out without taking time to actually study the logistics or ramifications.
